He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Wells and Ruth Wells (Cowhick); his siblings, Glenn Wells (Donna), Leonard Wells (Juanita), Ruby Dyer (Bill), Carol Crotchett (Archie), Opal Neff and Don Wells; his sister-in-law Carole Wells; and his son-in-law Dennis Cunningham.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Newberry Wells; his children, David B. Wells (Iris) of Godfrey, IL, Terry Wells (Julie) of Alton, IL, Kevin Wells (Penny) of Meadowbrook and Deborah Cunningham (Dee-Dee) of Alton, IL; his siblings, Russell Wells of Barrow, IL, Ned Wells (Mary) of Bethalto, IL and Polly Lincoln (Jerry) of Godfrey; and his siblings-in-law, Dale Neff of Roodhouse and Marilyn Wells of West York, IL..
