He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. James Carrow and June Carrow (Crowley); his brother Timmy Carrow; and his parents-in-law, Gerald and Bonnie Stemm.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Stemm; his children, Elizabeth "Betsie" Carrow of Minneapolis, MN, Erica Haarmann (Matthew) of St. Louis, MO, Ellen "Ellie" Cone (Caleb) of St. Louis, MO and John "Jack" Carrow of St. Louis, MO; his granddaughters, Charlotte and Alice Vielguth; his siblings, Dr. Christopher Carrow (Caren), Ellen Heintz (William), Dr. Martin Carrow (Linda), Margaret Kopsie (Mike), Ann Jamieson, John Carrow (Dana) and Genna Adams (Sam); his stepmother Carolyn Peters Carrow; and his siblings-in-law, Sam Stemm (Frank), Jay Stemm, Scott Stemm (Jennie), Dan Stemm (Liz) and Ann Stemm Seibold. He is also survived by 39 nieces and nephews, extended family members and good friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home - Godfrey (1313 W Delmar Ave, Godfrey, IL 62035). A Mass was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (519 E 4th St, Alton, IL 62002).
