He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert John and Ruth Amelia Erthal (Heiens); his brother John Erthal; and his nephew Donald Walter Erthal Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Mitzi Jo Withers; his stepson John Curtis of Kirkwood, MO; and his brother Donald Walter Erthal Sr. (Paul Haar) of Godfrey. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
