He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Wright and Nancy Ellen Wright (Cates); his son Samuel Louis Wright; his great grandchild James Hendricks; and his siblings, Lonnie, Loie, Alvis Wright, Alta Towell, Irene Johnson, Josephine Hill, Eveline King, June Von Kaenel and Lena Mae Johnson.

He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Beasley; his children, David Thomas Wright (Debbie) of Fidelity, Rebekah Jane Moody (Charles) of Grafton, Mishael Ann Moody (George) of Elsah and Lois Patricia Rowling (David) of Grafton; his grandchildren, Justin Gray (Lily), Josh Gray (Miranda), Justin Moody (Lisa), Jeremiah Moody, Beth Hendricks (Ben), Zachariah Moody, Tom Moody (Elisa), Chuck Moody (Heather), Jennifer Moody, Bekah McAtee (Jake), Luke Rowling (Tiffany) and Georgeann Moody; his great grandchildren, Christine Cervantes (Jordan), Vivian Gray, Daniel Gray, Olivia Gray, Esme Gray, Luella Gray, Henry Moody, Marilyn Moody, Olivia Moody, Gwynnevere Moody, Adeleide Moody, Oliver Moody, Emma Moody, William Moody, Trevor Moody, Andrew Hendricks, Jason Hendricks, Leila Hendricks, Edward Moody, Evelyn Moody, Edmond Moody, Maggie Moody, Charles Moody, Lydia McAtee, Lorelai McAtee, Landon McAtee, Josie Rowling, Fletcher Rowling and Archer Rowling; his great great grandchildren, Leon Cervantes and Saige Cervantes; and his sister-in-law Karen Kohne of O'Fallon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
