It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alan R. Shoptaw of Granite City, Illinois, who passed away on March 5, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond C. Shoptaw and Zilka Shoptaw (Martin); his sister Becky Denise Snell; and his close friend Jeannie Brooks. He is survived by: his daughter Jennifer; his son-in-law Tyson Phillips of Iuka, Illinois; his sister Susan; his brother-in-law Thomas Schmitt of Waterloo, Illinois; his grandchildren, Dalton Kirk, Katlyn Wilson, Blane Phillips, Austin Culver, Brianna Culver and Mittfred Dotson; his niece Angela Snell; and his nephews, Hugh B. Snell and Brian T. (Janese Schmitt). He is also survived by great nieces; great nephews; aunts; other extended family.
