Carl R. Watkins Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Carl R. Watkins of Granite City, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 16, 2025 at the age of 99. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Carl R. Watkins to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Shannon Watkins and Martha Watkins (Jones); his great grandchild Molly Stice; his siblings, Shannon Sue Gibbons and Mac; and his sister-in-law Delta Rae Watkins.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Jane Watkins (Wise); his children, Mark Watkins of Granite City and Carla; his son-in-law Tim Elliott of Granite City; his grandchildren, Steven (Jayme Elliott), Melissa (Ryan Stice) and Daniel (Chastina Elliott); his great grandchildren, Jake Elliott, Drew Elliott, Henry Stice, Anderson Stice and Ayden Holden; and his brother-in-law Tom Gibbons of Mt. Carmel. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; other extended family.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Irwin Chapel (3960 Maryville Rd, Granite City, IL 62040). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
