With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Charles V. Collins Sr. of Granite City, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 9, 2026 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Charles' earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Charles has bequeathed us. For though he may have departed from our sight, his spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
He was predeceased by: his siblings, James Collins and Hilda Cottrell. He is survived by: his wife Janet Harper; his children, Angela Davis (Lee) of Granite City, Whitney Murphy (Ben) of Whereby Australia, Charles, Jr. Collins (Melissa) of Granite City and Aaron Kershaw (Dana) of Clearview, FL; and his sisters, Diane Poe (Roger) of Granite City and Nancy Collins of Alton, IL.. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren: 6 great grandchildren.
