With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Chet Ballew of Granite City, Illinois, born in Williamsville, Missouri, who passed away on December 16, 2023 at the age of 77. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Chet Ballew to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Jasper S. Ballew and Ina B. Ballew (Parks); his son-in-law Cliff Cruse; and his siblings, Garvey, Leroy, Troy, Larry, Edith, Lillian and Betty.

He is survived by : his wife Nancy E. Ballew (Wisecarver); his daughters, Leigh Ann Cruse of Granite City and Lynne Ballew of Granite City; his grandchildren, Melissa, Denny Wells of Granite City, Jennifer Cruse of Granite City and Dustin Cruse of Granite City; his great grandchildren, Bryanna, Raeleigh and Brayden Wells; his siblings, Joan Wells of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Leon; and his sister-in-law Frieda Ballew of Granite City. He is also survived by nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.

Memorials may be made to the BJC Siteman Cancer Center and may be accepted at the funeral chapel.
