We are sad to announce that, on May 19, 2025, at the age of 88, Darlene M. Thomas of Granite City, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Schubert and Anna Schubert (Robertson); her husband Vernon J. Thomas; her son-in-law Dan Gore; and her siblings, Marcella Barnes and Herman Schubert.
She is survived by: her children, Angela Gore of Godfrey and Vernon "Joe" Thomas II (Susie Thomas) of Granite City; and her grandchildren, Nicole (Spruce Spruill), Joe (Megan Thomas), Jason Kelsaw, Jennifer Nicholson, Joshua (Lauren Nicholson) and Christopher Nicholson. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren; other extended family.
Memorials may be made to Johnson Road General Baptist Church in Granite City and may be accepted at the funeral chapel.
