Darwin P. Thornton Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Darwin P. Thornton of Granite City, Illinois, who passed away on December 10, 2022, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Thornton and Mary Thornton (Aubuchon); his former wife Norma Maddox; his wife Betty; and his siblings, Orville Thornton, Raymond Thornton and Hettie Boyer.
He is survived by: his children, Michael (Justine Thornton), Mary Ann (Gregory Stanfill) and David (Karen Thornton); and his grandchildren, Jennifer (Christopher Sievers), Katherine (Paul Fowler), Stephanie (Jonathon Bruns), Laura (Alberto Ballester Stanfill), Leah (Derek Morgan), Brett (Jessica Thornton) and Ryan (Beth Thornton). He is also survived by other extended family and friends.
In lieu of floral tributes, memorials may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project or to Masses.
