He was predeceased by: his parents, Velmer Young and Sophia Young (Buehrer); his sister Jean Knox; and his nephew Larry Knox. He is survived by: his children, David A., Christy Young of Granite City, Kathleen and Bob Stegemeier of Granite City, Illinois; his stepson Stephen Underkofler of Virginia; his grandchildren, Brad, Lindsay Hutchings, Amanda, Keith Harris, Chloe, Anthoney Ragnetti, Nash Young and Cara Tindall; his great grandchildren, Fallyn Harris, Laityn Harris, Suttyn Harris, Hayden Hutchings and Quinn Hutchings; his former wife Betty Young of Granite City, Illinois; his close friend Marlene Brokaw of Maryville, Illinois; and his nephew Randall Knox of Texas.
Memorial donations are suggested to St. John United Church of Christ, St. John Cemetery or to the American Heart Association.
