It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary William Gaines of Granite City, Illinois, who passed away on February 9, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William L. Gaines and Betty Gaines (Madsen). He is survived by: his wife Norma Hammett (Miller); his children, Melissa McCarty (Brad) of Hawk Point, MO, Casey Bailey-Gaines of St. Louis, MO and Erik Baileygaines (Amber) of East Alton, IL; his grandchildren, Corey Craig, Bradley McCarty, Austin Baileygaines and Brocktin Baileygaines; and his siblings, Michael Gaines (Sandie) of White Hall, IL, Richard Gaines (Cathy) of Maryville, IL, Robert Gaines (Annette) of Hobart, IN, Diane Peach (Terry) of Granite City and Karen Smart of Granite City.

The family asks that no flowers or live arrangements be brought. Contributions may be made to Essential Tremor Institute or USWA SOAR Chapter 34-7-2.
