He was predeceased by: his parents, Hale F. Painter and Frances Painter Sr. (Zukas); his wife Barbara June Painter (McCullough); his daughters, Rhonda Marie Painter and Robin Diane Black; and his sister Dorothy Sinovic.
He is survived by: his son Michael Painter (Julie Repp); his granddaughters, Sarah Axe (Mark Axe), Kathryn Painter (Tommy Gabauer), Alison Keough (Ben Keough) and Haley Black; and his great grandchild Emily. He is also survived by many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or to Holy Family Catholic Church and may be accepted at the funeral chapel.
