He was predeceased by: his parents, Otillio Valencia and Juana Valencia (Belman); his wife Norma J. Valencia (Mahrt); his son John A. Valencia; and his siblings, Abel Valencia, Tony Valencia, Faustino "Kelly" Valencia, Otillio "Leehee" Valencia Jr. and Helen Valencia.
He is survived by: his children, Richard A. Valencia of Granite City, Robert V. Valencia (Rebecca Hill) and Denise Shannon of St. Louis, Missouri; his grandchildren, Brennen Hill and Brittney Valencia; his great grandchildren, Charlize "Charlie" Valencia and Tyler Barton; and his sisters, Delores "Lola" Broyles and Lupe Valencia.
