John Markarian Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Markarian of Granite City, Illinois, who passed away on July 23, 2023 at the age of 100. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Kaspar Markarian and Juhar Markarian; his wife Anna Houston Markarian (Wallace); his daughter Cindy Mastroianni; and his sister Rose Kalajian.

He is survived by: his sons, John (Debra Markarian), Ron (Jen Markarian) and Randall (Annette Markarian); his grandchildren, Jeffrey (Julie Mastroianni), Todd Markarian (Lauren), Michael Butcher (Grace), Brendan O'Brien (Emily), Luke Gentry (Gabrielle Markarian) and Beck Markarian (Gillian Markarian); his great grandchildren, Anna Mastroianni, Nikki Mastroianni, Kolten Markarian, Riley Butcher and Bradyn Butcher; and his nieces, Mary Lou Heberer of Chesterfield and Margaret Swiney of St. Louis, Missouri. He is also survived by other extended family and many friends.
