She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel B. Georgeff and Josephine H. Georgeff (Majetic). She is survived by: her husband Walter L. Whitaker; her daughter Kristy J.; her son-in-law Paul Bassler of St. Jacob; her son Mark Whitaker of Granite City; her grandchildren, Hunter (Jessica Bassler) and Samantha Bassler; her brother Sam; her sister-in-law Georganne Georgeff of Granite City; her nephew Michael (Lana Georgeff); her niece Bethany Georgeff; and her great-nephew Brendan Georgeff. She is also survived by other extended family and many friends.

Memorials may be made to Partners for Pets in Troy, Illinois or to Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital in Maryland Heights, Missouri and may be accepted at the funeral home.
