It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mildred Lee Spahn of Granite City, Illinois, born in Saint Louis, Missouri, who passed away on January 2, 2024, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Everett Hopper and Blanche Neckerman (Oliver); her husband Paul Lawrence Spahn; her children, Geoffrey Spahn and Mary; her son-in-law Charles Atkins; her grandsons, Daniel "Danny" Patton and Dean Spahn; and her sisters, Gwen Hempen, Gerri Neckerman and Janice Grove.

She is survived by : her children, Paula Thouvenot of Granite City, Kathleen (Jay Taylor), Christopher (Beth Spahn), Jeanne (Mike Patton) and Elizabeth Kaufenberg of Granite City; her daughter-in-law Sonja Spahn of Alexandria, Louisiana; and her grandchildren, Christy (Greg DeLuca), Tricia Thouvenot, Jason (Windy Taylor), Bryan (Allison Taylor), Melanie Spahn, Ryan (Alissea Spahn), Christopher Spahn, Holly (Jeremy Nixon), Charles Atkins, Paul Atkins, Andrea Patton (Matthew Maddox), Hannah (Grant Petrie) and Amanda Patton (Kelly Kaufenberg). She is also survived by sixteen great grandchildren; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and may be accepted at the funeral chapel.
