The passing of Philip Michael Cuvar of Granite City, Illinois leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on October 8, 2025 at the age of 87. He was predeceased by: his mother Margaret Cuvar (Oros); and his siblings, Joan McCracken and Steve Cuvar. He is survived by: his father John Cuvar Sr.; his wife Pat Cuvar; his children, Bryan Cuvar (Karen), Michael Cuvar and Lisa Funkhouser; his siblings, John Cuvar Jr. and Jeanette Pinkston; and his grandchildren, Michael Cuvar, David Funkhouser, Stephanie Cuvar, Matthew Funkhouser and Nicholas Cuvar. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Irwin Chapel (3960 Maryville Rd, Granite City, IL 62040). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In honor of Philip's generous spirit, memorial donations may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
