Ruth Slone Obituary
Ruth Ann Slone, 61, of Granite City, IL passed away at 7:09 p.m., Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was born June 12, 1956, in Granite City, IL. Ruth and Paul Slone married on December 19, 1987 in Granite City, IL. They were married 30 years. Ruth had worked several places over the years, to include: McDonalds, Kmart and the Dollar Tree.
She enjoyed being a wife, mother and grandmother the most. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Granite City, IL. Survivors include her husband: Paul D. Slone of Granite City, IL; three daughters: Dawn Slone of Granite City, IL, Kathleen Terrell of Madison, IL, and Tiffany Slone of Godfrey, IL; seven sons: Larry Slone of Granite City, IL.
Eric (Jennifer) Slone of Florissant, MO, Michael Southerland of Pontoon Beach, IL, Charles Southerland of Granite City, IL, Lonnie (Jessica) Slone of GA, William (Jacklynn) Southerland of Granite City, IL and Paul Slone II of Iowa; 24 grandchildren; step-mother: Judy Carney; four brothers: Earl (Noreen) Fanning of Granite City, IL, David Fanning of Nutwood, IL, Edward (Patty) Fanning of Hardin, IL and Eddie Dean Carney of MI; two sisters: Martha (Bud) Branhan of Kampsville, IL and Terri (Mark) Taylor of Belleville, IL.
She is preceded in death by her father Earl Carney; mother Ruth (nee: Kurtz) Fanning and her adoptive father William Fanning; and three grandchildren. Memorial services are pending.
