He was predeceased by : his father George Callender Sr.; his wife Dana Callender; and his grandmother Gertrude Perry. He is survived by : his mother Vivian Callender Grimes (Dixon) of Granite City; his children, Sarah Callender, Nathan Donohue of Granite City, Jessica Callender of Washington State and Justin Doty of Granite City; his siblings, George (Cherri Callender Jr.) and Dana (Gary Allen); and his close friend Danny Williams of Granite City. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many other close family members and friends.
