He was predeceased by : his parents, George King and Evelyn King (Carnes). He is survived by : his wife JoAnn King (Whitaker); his sons, Brian King (Teresa) of Fulton, Brad King of Imperial and Brent King of Columbia, Missouri; his stepchildren, Denise Lofink (Dave) of Granite City, Michael Kalert (Gena) of Bethalto and David Kalert (Scott Eberhart) of Glen Carbon; his grandchildren, Briana King, Rachel King, Evelyn King, Cyd King, Steven Kalert, Melissa Sullivan, Maerhanda Rolens and Jacob Kalert; his great grandchildren, Charli, Blake, Destiny, Joseph, Aubrey and Paige; his siblings, Ronald King (Kay) of Wisconsin, Robert "Bob" King (Rita) of Farris, Illinois and Sidney Brown of Ft. Madison, Iowa; and his pet Almond Joy. He is also survived by many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.

Memorials may be made to St. John United Church of Christ or to Heartland Hospice.
