He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Schau and Hilda Schau; his wife Linda Schau; and his brothers, Dennis and Kenneth Schau.
He is survived by: his sons, Matthew Schau (Kelley) and Nathan Schau (Melissa); his grandchildren, Emily Schau, Hannah Schau, Marleigh Schau, Lennon Schau, Dylan Schau and Stevie Schau; and his brothers, Merlin Schau (Jennifer), Ron Schau and Gary Schau (Linda).
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Strang Funeral Chapel (410 E Belvidere Rd, Grayslake, IL 60030). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 10:00 AM and at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the Charter Oak Volunteer Fire Department where he volunteered for 10 years prior to marriage and family.
