He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Gunderson and Ethel Gunderson (Swanson); his brother Rich; and his son Peter. He is survived by: his wife Carol Gunderson (Ziebarth) of Minneapolis; his children, Pam Wallem (Scott), Mark Gunderson (Misty), Paul Gunderson (Kate) and Joel Gunderson (Rahel); his grandchildren, Josh, Crystal, Brant, Nathan, Jordan, Mina, Brielle, Janae, Caleb, Isaac, Micah, Titus, Kyan, Trinity and Nura; and his great grandchildren, Sage, Casey, Thea, Maylee, Emery, Autumn, Elijah (Baby) and Harrison.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Our Savior Evangelical Free Church (300 Schoenbeck Rd, Wheeling, IL 60090).
