It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Philip John Rovang (Grayslake, Illinois), who passed away on June 18, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Philip John may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Rovang and Gladys Rovang of Osage, IA. He is survived by: his wife Laura (Wignall); his children, Dana Rovang (Timothy Cornell) of Chicago, IL, Megan Rovang (Jason Bench) of Alamogordo, NM and Alex Rovang of Sedona, AZ; his grandchild Ronen Cornell; and his siblings, David Rovang (Karen) of Forest Lake, MN, Julie Burton (Don) of Racine, WI and Mari Rovang (Howard Matheson).
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 23rd 2025 at the Wildwood Presbyterian Church (18630 W Old Gages Lake Rd, Grayslake, IL 60030).
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to the Wildwood Presbyterian Church Adult Mission Fund, The Lake County Veterans' Closet, and The Micheal J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
