He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ellis and Elsie Buckles (Marks); his wife Karen McGuire; his son Scott McGuire; and his siblings, Juanita Meadows, Clyde Buckles and Rowena Bunting.

He is survived by: his children, Keith Buckles (Katrina) of Boonville, IN, Joseph Buckles of Albion, IL, Darek Buckles (Stacey) of Henderson, KY. and Tracy McGuire-Rossetti (John) of Silver Springs, MD; his grandchildren, Aaron Sturgeon, Amber Sturgeon, Allison Freese (Billy), Katelyn Speir (Quentin), Madison Currier (Chandler), Rhiannon McGuire, Cassidy McGuire, Mammo Rossetti, Evangeline Rossetti, Samantha Meredith, William Meredith, Kelsie Newsome, Channelle True (Eli) and Joe Monigan; his great grandchildren, Bo, Kenton, Maggie, Layla, Vivian, Brooks and Ayla; and his pet Prince.
