He was predeceased by: his parents, Shelley Schroeder and Emily Schroeder (Cowling); his son William Franklin Schroeder; his wife Sharon Marie Hortin; and his siblings, Doyle Schroeder and Lois Kay Foster.

He is survived by: his grandson William Timothy Miller; and his brother-in-law Larry Hortin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
