He was predeceased by : his parents, John O. Ball, and Velma Ball, Sr. (Bryant); and his siblings, Velma "Mert" Wertz, Evelyn "Evy" Stanberry, Jenny Miller and Clarence "Jonesy" Jones.

He is survived by : his wife Marjorie A. Mitchell; his sister Sandy Lohnes of Bark River, Michigan; his stepchildren, Joni Sefton (David) of Brownstown, Lisa Heilman (late Jeff) of Forest City and Carl Heltzel of Green Valley; his granddaughter Opal Kuban (Brad); and his great grandchild Maeliegh Kuban. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
