He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Sonny of Marion and Bernadine Marteness of Green Valley; and his uncle Clifton Marteness of Pekin. He is survived by: his parents, Jerry Lee and Diane Gail Sassman (Marteness); his grandfather Harold Sassman (Doris) of Groveland; and his siblings, Amanda Pettijohn of Manito, Heather Sassman (Shawn Melford) of Bloomington, Cody Smock (Samantha) of East Peoria and Kristen Smock of Peoria. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and so many good friends.
