He was predeceased by : his parents, Thomas George and Mary George (Smith); his former life partner Betty June Winters; his wife Anna Mansfield; his grandson Trevor George; and his siblings, Veda Hamilton, Mildred Haviland, Helen McLamar, Gale, Buell, Harold, Ellsworth and Lee.

He is survived by : his sons, David L. (Julie) of Greenfield, Dale W. (Christine) of Hannibal, MO. and Daniel L. (Carol) of Bellevue, NE; his stepsons, David Mansfield (LuAnn) of White Hall, Jon Mansfield of Lowden, IA and Andy Mansfield (Sally) of White Hall; his grandchildren, Christina Sloan (James), Jeff Dixon, Kaitlyn George, Kaleigh Peters (J. T.) and Elizabeth George; his stepgrandchildren, Brian Mansfield (Kate), Brad Mansfield (Jennifer), Brent Mansfield (Willow), Lyn Young (Spencer), Lucy Evanson (Kirk) and Laura Bell (Drew); and his great grandchildren, Abagail, Thomas, Samuel, Cooper, Evangalene and Holden. He is also survived by 14 step-great-grandchildren, and one step-great-great grandson.

Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church, or the Greenfield Lions Club.
