He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Bowden, Sr. and Ruby Bowden (Duckworth); and his grandparents, Hubert and Helen Duckworth (Royer). He is survived by: his wife Diane Bowden; his daughter Katie Evans (Colton); and his granddaughter Sawyer.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Assalley-Young Funeral Home (118 E College Ave, Greenville, IL 62246). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Auburn Cemetery - Greenville Greenville (1206 E Oak St, Greenville, IL 62246).
In lieu of flowers, plants, and other tokens, memorials may be given at the visitation & the funeral or mailed to Bond County Hospice, 1520 S. 4th St., Greenville, IL 62246, in memory of Virgil.
