He was predeceased by: his father Thomas R. McCarter; his grandparents, Lyle, Joseph and Ellen McCarter; his sister-in-law Bobbi McCarter; and his niece Michala Rose McCarter.
He is survived by: his mother Lee McCarter of Griggsville, IL; his children, Heather McCarter (Cory Howland) of Pleasant Hill, IL, Brad Sargent (Jenna) and Justin Sargent; his grandchildren, Derek McCarter, Briar Howland, Remi Howland, Paxton Sargent and Pierson Sargent; and his brothers, Tom McCarter and Aaron McCarter. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Mass will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (226 E Adams St, Pittsfield, IL 62363). The inurnment will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at the Griggsville Cemetery West Webster.
Memorials are suggested to be made to the St. Mary's Catholic Church or to the family to be given to support the Shop with a Biker program.
