We announce the death of Roger Stanley of Griggsville, Illinois, who passed away on August 11, 2026, at the age of 74. Roger will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Stanley and Pearl Salman Stanley; his former spouse Laverne Allen; his mother-in-law Rosetta Mize; and his siblings-in-law, Donnie and Linda White.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Phillips; his sons, Richard Stanley (Rhonda) of Griggsville and Robert Stanley (Camille) of Ewing; his grandchildren, Skylar Stanley of Missoula, Hunter Stanley of Rockwall, Michael Long (Emily) of Manchester, Freedom McBride (Devon) of Quincy, Jasmine Long of Pittsfield and Gabe Long of Pittsfield; his great grandchildren, Brenn McBride and Thorfinn McBride; and his sisters, Darla Stanley of Griggsville, Wanda Pennock (Jerry) of Detroit, Carla Biddle of Springfield and Patty Davis (Thomas) of Victoria. He is also survived by nephew.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Griggsville Nazarene Church, Griggsville American Legion, or Griggsville Cemetery and sent to Airsman-Hires Chapel, 107 E. Cross St. Winchester, Il. 62694.
