With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Gary Austin Bowker of Gurnee, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosamond Sloan and Gerald Bowker; and his sisters, Tammy Simpson and Leslie Seymour. He is survived by: his wife Sherry Bowker; his daughter Heather Ray (Michael); his granddaughter Mallory Bueschen; his daughter Holly Kammer (Clarence); his grandchildren, Destinee (Anthony) and Clay (Alice); his daughter Heidi Wade; his grandchildren, Gavin and Aubrey; his siblings, Michael Sloan (Gale), Dale Sloan (Jo), Lynette Miller and Jimmy Sloan; his sister-in-law Vicki Florio (Terry); and also William. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The military honors will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at the Marsh Funeral Home (305 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, IL 60031).
He was also a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints until Alzheimer's disease limited his ability to attend.
