She was predeceased by: her parents, Monico Olaya and Juana Lopez Olaya (Lopez); her brother Demetrio Lopez Olaya; her daughter-in-law Jocelyn Monis; and her brother-in-law Gil Guevarra.
She is survived by: her husband Rafael Monis; her sons, Richard Monis, Ralph Monis (Caryn), Roderick Monis (Lori Beal), Ronald Monis and Rey Monis (Natasha); her grandchildren, Kayla, Alex, Nathaniel, Jackson, Alison, Myles, Griffin, Maxwell and Hudson; and her sisters, Teresita Olaya Leonardo (Danilo), Concesa Guevarra and Manuela Olaya.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Gerena's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
