He is survived by: his wife Rose (Ribando); his daughter Victoria Lee Banis (Dennis Leith); his grandchildren, Matthew Scott Banis (Ellie Beth), Kyle Peter Banis and Thea Danae Banis; and his sister Alice Banis Shorts. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
