We bid farewell to Allen J. Reiter of Hamel, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on March 1, 2026 at the age of 78. Allen touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Reiter and Nellie Reiter (Koch); his siblings, Eileen, Thelma Klueter, Frances Neunaber, Leroy, Leonard, Chester, Dale, Clyde, Rev. Kenneth and Murl; and his siblings-in-law, Laverne, Rosalie, Esther, Marie, Edgar Wendel, Roy Neunaber and Wilbur Klueter.
He is survived by: his wife Lynn Reiter (Jacobsmeyer); his daughter Sheila; his son-in-law Chad Alexander of Glen Carbon; his son Matthew; his daughter-in-law Angie Reiter of Troy; his grandchildren, Jackson, Benjamin, Melanie, Joseph and Nathaniel; and his sister-in-law Ann Reiter of Ankeny, Iowa. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 10th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Irwin Chapel (591 Glen Crossing Rd, Glen Carbon, IL 62034). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Immanuel United Church of Christ – Hamel (5838 Staunton Rd, Edwardsville, IL 62025).
