He was predeceased by: his mother Carolyn Buchanan (Lacey). He is survived by: his father Terry Buchanan; his wife Mary Fuhler; his son Ben Buchanan (Ashley) of Hardin; his grandchildren, Kolsen and Lynlee Buchanan; his brother Todd Buchanan (Michelle); his nephew Trenton Buchanan; and his niece Madeline Buchanan.

Visitation was held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gress, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home - Hardin (207 S County Rd, Hardin, IL 62047). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Norbert's Church. A burial will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Norbert's Catholic Cemetery (505 Main St, Hardin, IL 62047).

Memorials may be made to St. Norbert's School or family choice.
