He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Johnson and Leota Johnson (Dietz); and his sister Emma June Patterson. He is survived by: his wife Julia Johnson of Harmon; and his children, John Scott Murphy (Sandi) of Franklin Grove, William E. Murphy (Diane) of Harmon, Gerald E. Murphy (Susie) of Franklin Grove, Andrew M. Johnson (Deanna Barlow) of Franklin Grove and Amy Appelquist (Rick) of Dixon. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren; and 37 great grandchildren.
