She was predeceased by: her mother Armandina Serrano; her sister Laura Mireya Valdez; her brother-in-law Servando Alvarez; and her grandparents, Cecilia "Chila" Serrano, Maximiliano Alvarez, Maria, Angeles Espino Godina and Guillermo Huizar Nunez.
She is survived by: her father Fernando Huizar; her husband Oliverio Alvarez; her children, Oliverio Jr., Cecilia, Lizette and Cassandra; her siblings, Sergio Huizar (Nancy), Jorge Huizar and Elizabeth Huizar; her brother-in-law Roberto Valdez; her parents-in-law, Ernestina Marquez Flores and Aurelio Alvarez Alvarez; and her siblings-in-law, Gerardo (Jill), Raudel (Ana), Aurelio Jr. (Maribel), Eddy (Teresa), Uriel (Tona), Feliciano (Marilu), Jorge (Sandra), Ludy (Claudio), Esmeralda (Jose) and Amalia. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, August 29th 2026 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home (107 W Sumner St, Harvard, IL 60033). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (206 E Front St, Harvard, IL 60033). A burial was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at the Mt. Auburn Cemetery (20501 E Brink St, Harvard, IL 60033).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Araceli's honor to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance.
