He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Clarence Oerkfitz and Margaret Oerkfitz (Ehrke); his wife Helen Elaine Burton; his sons, Chad (Melissa), Josh (Toni) and Nick (Ashley); his grandchildren, Riley, Justin, Bentley, Sydney and Brody Oerkfitz; his sister Judy Pfingsten of Monroe, WI; and his siblings-in-law, Marilyn Oerkfitz of Crystal Lake, IL, Pat Oerkfitz of Crystal Lake, IL, Donna Oerkfitz of Woodstock, IL, Everett Burton of Elkhorn, WI and Betty Drafz of Florida. He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous cherished friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 19th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, May 20th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 20th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (504 E Diggins St, Harvard, IL 60033).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Larry's honor to the Music Ministry at Trinity Lutheran Church.
