She was predeceased by: her parents, Emil Strubing and Calla Strubing (Bonde). She is survived by: her children, Patricia Kohl of Petersburg, TN, Jerry Brown (Susan) of Willow Springs, MO, Sandra Luerssen (Mike) of Cabool, MO, Melissa Oerkfitz (Chad) of Harvard, IL and Sara Long (Tom) of Cabool, MO; and her sisters-in-law, Joan Strubing of St. Louis, MO, Lola Mae Brown of Hocomo, MO, Betty Johnston of Bakersfield, MO and Evelyn Smith of Tennessee. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Shirley's honor to the First United Methodist Church of Harvard.
