We announce the death of Edward D. Boggs of Havana, Illinois, who passed away on July 3, 2026, at the age of 83. Edward will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester R. Boggs and Ruth Horner Tanner; his son Lester Maurice Boggs; his brother Jerry Boggs; and his grandson Johnathan Longmire.

He is survived by: his children, Dean Downing of Jerseyville, Jason Boggs of Pekin, Illinois, Angela Boggs Longmire of Pekin and Rebecca Boggs Flynn (Darren) of Pekin, Illinois; his grandchildren, Jordon Ziegenbein Moore of Naylor, Erica Ziegenbein of Pekin, Zachary Longmire of Pekin, Monica Ziegenbein of Holiday, Jacob Carpenter of Pekin and Elizabeth Carpenter of Duluth; and his siblings, Mary Barton (Midge) of Havana, Terry Boggs of Havana and John Boggs of Englewood, Colorado.. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made in Eddie's name to TAPS in Pekin.
