David Edward Wilford Obituary
We announce the death of David Edward Wilford of Hazel Crest, Illinois, who passed away on July 21, 2026, at the age of 84. David will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his significant other Bonnie; his parents, Percy Wilford and Ruth Wilford; his stepmother Helen Wilford; his in-laws, George and Ruth Baird; and his siblings-in-law, Jim Baird of Wentzville, MO and Georgiann Baird of Sycamore, IL..
He is survived by: his son Edward Wilford (Elenor); his grandchildren, Margaret Talbert (Maggie), Beatrice Wilford (Bea) and Greg Wilford; his siblings-in-law, Joe Baird of Sycamore, IL and Jolene Baird of Wentzville, MO; and his close friend Ed "The Godfather" Lugowski. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home (3227 Ridge Rd, Lansing, IL 60438). A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 7:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dave's honor may be made to The Lansing Journal and the Lansing Lions Club.
