He is survived by: his wife Deborah Smoot; his children, John Smoot (Kristin) and Danielle Wallace-DeCaro (Sam); his grandchildren, Tyler Bond (Nicole), Randall Lauderdale, Cera Wallace-DeCaro, Liam Wallace-DeCaro, Oliver Wallace-DeCaro and Lexi Crites; and his great grandchild Annsley Bond.
