He is survived by: his mother Marilyn Swinford of Rockford, Illinois.; his friend Bob Inboden; his wife Tina Swinford (Phillips) of Herrin; his birth mother Sandra Cleary of Aspen, Colorado; his siblings, Bill Swinford (Monica) of Marion, Beth Smith (Swinford) of Carbondale and Kelly Gonzalez (Jorge) of Denver, Colorado; his aunts, Katherine Bondurant of Decatur, Diane Wolfe of Columbus and Sue Trebing of Edwardsville; his mother-in-law Sharon Phillips of Marion; his siblings-in-law, Richard Phillips of Herrin, Pamela Sutton of Herrin, Jennifer Arnett (Kevin) of Zeigler and Sarah Cleary of Lakewood, Colorado; and his niece Alexis Hager of St. Joseph, Illinois. He is also survived by many uncles and aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, special co-workers and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marion Medical Mission or Bald Knob Cross of Peace.
