It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dale Poiter of Herrin, Illinois, born in Pinckneyville, Illinois, who passed away on December 31, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Albert Poiter and Rose Poiter (Siebert); his wife Margaret Rose "Margie" Simons; his daughter Peggy Dooley; his sister Charlotte; and his brother-in-law Noah Carter.

He is survived by : his sons, Patrick Poiter of Carbondale, IL and Robert Poiter of Plainsboro, NJ; his grandchildren, Caitlin Dooley of Godfrey, Heather Oliphant (Floyd) of Alto Pass and Meaghan Dooley of Herrin; his great grandchildren, Mason Oliphant, Rebekah Oliphant and Samuel Oliphant; his brother Maurice; his sister-in-law Shiela Poiter of Granite City, IL; and his daughter-in-law Sherry Stearns of Alto Pass.
