It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David A. Caraker of Herrin, Illinois, who passed away on July 20, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Caraker and Evelyn Caraker (Cutsinger). He is survived by: his son Drake Caraker of Seattle, WA; his siblings, Victorya (Ray Bade), Cathy (Gary Lemmon), Rebecca Caraker of Marion, Laura (Brian Choate) and Dennis Caraker of Marion, IL; his siblings-in-law, Elaine, D. J. Johnson of Lake, Eric and Vicki Shostrom of Grandbury, TX; and his close friends, George Blatter of Herrin, Jerry and Bonnie Williams of Du Quoin, IL.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home (2704 S Park Ave, Herrin, IL 62948). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
