With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Fred Ellis Simmons of Herrin, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 14, 2025 at the age of 77. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Fred Ellis Simmons to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Simmons and Ernestine Simmons (Edwards); his brothers, Mike Simmons (Tammy) and Danny Croslin; and his nephew Kyle Cripps.
He is survived by: his daughter Michelle Simmons (John Allsopp); his grandchildren, Harley Crawshaw (Evan Lawrence) and Rayce Crawshaw (Alexis Coleman); his sister Christy Baggett (Keith); his nieces and nephews, Cory Cripps (Jacqui), Justin Killion, Sean Simmons, Stephen Simmons, Eric Simmons, Stephanie Hunter and Erica Simmons; the mother of his child Angie Heavener (Bob Rothluebbers); and his close friend Bob Essick.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home (322 N Division St, Carterville, IL 62918). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
