He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward and Delsie Lorene Childers (Bunch); his great grandchild Parker Thompson; and his siblings, Linda Louise Childers, James Edward Childers, Jr., Larry Joe Childers, David Lee Childers, Gordon Louis Childers, Robert D. Childers, Loutisha Childers and Michael Childers.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Childers of Herrin; his children, Jamie (John Yancey) of Herrin, Bret "Soup" (Kelly Childers) of Herrin, Mindy (Donald Samples) of Herrin and Josh (Marilyn Childers) of Herrin; his grandchildren, Justin (Robin Yancey), Jake Yancey (Jonathon "Jon Jon" Yancey), Brandon Childers (Lexi), Hunter Sullivan (Molly Childers), Luke (Austin Samples), Keely (Macey Samples), Jared (Cole Samples), Loran (Tyler Thompson), Abby (Aaron) and Sierra Thompson (Rodney Childers); his great grandchildren, Fletcher, Fiona, Banks, Palmer, Murphy Kate, Grayson, Saylor, Kayden and Brooks; and his sisters, Janice Kay (Ronald Lantrip) and Jennifer Jayne "Baby" (Dennis Diuguid). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
