It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Howard Lee Sergeant in Herrin, Illinois, born in Hastings, Nebraska, who passed away on February 6, 2023, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Howard D. Sergeant and Dorothy L. Sergeant; his stepmother Della M. Sergeant; his sister Beverly K; and his brother-in-law Ron Riese.

He is survived by : his wife Diane; his children, Daniel (Melissa) of Rochelle, IL, David (Lydia) of St. Louis, MO, Thomas (Jackie) of St. John, IN, Debra Lammers (Peter) of Cedar Rapids, IA and Seth (Aly) of Sullivan, IL; his grandchildren, Kaylee, Olivia, Nathan, Natalie, Chloe, Samuel, Levi, Ella, Logan, Rebecca, Trevor, Juliet, Lilian, Sawyer, Heidi, Magnolia, Scarlet, Kepler and Leelynn; his brother Robert (Holly) of Hastings, NE; his stepsiblings, Merlyn Bartels (Patricia) of Lincoln, NE and Marlene Hodgson of Lexington, NE; his parents-in-law, William and Marcella Minton of Marion, IL; his siblings-in-law, William Minton (Ingrid) of Marion, IL and Linda Boggess (Michael) of Jacksonville, FL.; and his aunt Clarys Boyle of Payson, AZ.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins.
